As part of our commitment to transparency and quality, we use artificial intelligence (AI) technologies only in the early stages of content creation and to support accessibility and inclusion in our work.

This disclosure explains how we use AI, where we don’t, and how we ensure your privacy, ownership, and trust remain protected at every step.

How We Use AI (and How We Don’t)

We may use AI tools such as ChatGPT (by OpenAI) and similar platforms to support the early stages of creative development or improve accessibility. These tools help us:

• Brainstorm content ideas, outlines, or messaging directions

• Generate first-draft captions or placeholder text (which we fully revise)

• Create or improve Alt Text and image descriptions for screen reader users

• Identify ways to enhance ADA compliance in design and writing (e.g., color contrast, plain language)

• Summarize publicly available data or surface preliminary research

Every AI-assisted piece is reviewed, refined, and finalized by a human expert before being shared with clients or published.

What We Don’t Use AI For

We do not use AI to:

• Finalize any content or design without human input

• Make strategy, branding, or tone decisions

• Write mission statements, donor appeals, or sensitive communications

• Process confidential or proprietary client data (unless explicitly authorized)

• Replace conversations, collaboration, or human insight

Limitations of AI

While helpful, AI tools have clear limitations:

• They may produce errors or outdated information

• They lack cultural nuance and emotional intelligence

• They may reflect bias or generic assumptions

• They do not understand your community, history, or voice

That’s why we treat AI as a starter tool, not a final solution.

Accessibility and Inclusion

AI also helps us ensure our work is accessible. We may use it to:

• Draft and improve Alt Text and image descriptions

• Recommend edits for plain language or readability

• Flag potential visual issues like poor color contrast for users with visual impairments

These tools support—but never replace—our human commitment to accessibility.

Data Privacy and Confidentiality

We do not input sensitive client data into AI platforms without your explicit consent.

Let It Shine Communications follows best practices in digital privacy and confidentiality and uses AI tools only in accordance with our data protection standards.

Content Ownership and Client Choice

All final deliverables—whether created with AI assistance or not—are human-reviewed and fully owned by you upon final payment (per your contract).

If you prefer that no AI tools be used in your project, just let us know. We are happy to accommodate that preference.
